When Street Fighter 5 originally launched, the game earned some of the lowest scores in franchise history, largely thanks to a general lack of content. While the core fighting game foundation in Street Fighter 5 was quite good, there just wasn’t much for players to do. Fast forward to Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition, and the game is in a much better state than it was years ago, with an expanded roster and a variety of game modes for players to sink their teeth into....

Koch Media has announced it’s entered into a partnership with GSC Game World to release upcoming open-world FPS S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl at retail early next year. In case you’re not up to speed, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chernobyl is the long-awaited latest entry in the series that started with 2007’s S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl. Set in a dark and violent post-apocalyptic wasteland, you’ll be trying to survive the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone....

Today Sabotage Studio reached out with a press release to announce that Sea of Stars is going to land on PlayStation. The charming and highly-anticipated RPG inspired by JRPGs is coming to both PS5 and PS4 in 2023 on top of the previously-announced PC and Nintendo Switch version. Sabotage had promised that new platforms would be announced, and they kept that promise. The game was supposed to be released this year during the Holiday season, but will instead launch in 2023 following a recent delay....

Fresh on the heels of its Shenmue I & II announcement over the weekend, Sega’s confirmed it will be digging even further into its back catalogue with the release of Sega Ages for the Nintendo Switch this summer. The initiative will bring a number of classic titles from the software giant to Ninty’s hybrid box, including Sonic the Hedgehog, Phantasy Star, and Thunder Force IV. The full lineup includes over 15 games and will be handled by studio M2, who has cut its teeth on a number of brilliant retro revivals over the past few years....

Arrives on Steam today, with 50% off Dawn of War titles too SEGA Europe Ltd. and SEGA of America, Inc. have announced that the popular console shooter Warhammer 40,000: Kill Team will be available on Steam. To celebrate this along with the re-launch of Relic’s Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War titles under the SEGA umbrella, the entire range will all be available for 50% off until May 25, 2014, at 10:00 AM PDT (so it’s over by now)....

Dotemu has released a new behind-the-scenes video for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge. One reason to be excited about the new game is because Dotemu made Streets of Rage 4, and that was really good. As promised, The Sims 4 team has just released a trailer for an upcoming expansion pack, Discover University. While many fans were unsurprised by the pack’s theme due to previous leaks, the trailer still excited any fans who tuned in. Within 10 minutes, the trailer had attracted over 14k likes, 2,000 comments, and a huge amount of speculative live chat. Simmers can’t wait to get their hands on a university expansion after a five-year wait for the popular theme....

Sniper Elite 5 has a confirmed release date and is available to pre-order now. “Operation Kraken must be destroyed. Pre-Order Sniper Elite 5 now for the bonus Target Führer campaign mission and P.1938 Suppressed Pistol”, Sniper Elite tweeted. “Coming to Game Pass, Xbox One, Series X|S, PC and PlayStation 4 & 5 on May 26th, 2022.” However, when one user pointed out it wasn’t showing up on their PSN store, the Sniper Elite handle stated that those in a GMT time zone will have to wait until tomorrow (17th March) between 2pm - 4pm to get their preorders in on PlayStation....

SEGA has released a new Sonic the Hedgehog holiday animation today. Titled Chao in Space, the short follows a young Chao and its space war against the Dark Chao. Interestingly, the animation is based off of the Chao in Space posters in the Sonic Adventure series. Almost 20 years later, fans can finally see how the story plays out. With this animation, it seems to fully confirm that Chao in Space is the Sonic version of Star Wars, complete with a Force ghost-like appearance from Tikal....

Sony affirmed that it will continue to prioritise development of “narrative-driven, single-player” games for the PlayStation 5 (via Push Square). It’s unsurprising, since its studios’ skills shine with these sorts of games. We thought Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End was “phenomenal” with “immense scale,” Horizon: Zero Dawn’s Aloy was “embodiment of courage,” and we called The Last of Us “one of the finest game experiences of this generation.” Nevertheless, the next generation offers new and unknown opportunities, and who would blame Sony for taking the bit between its teeth?...

Soul Hackers 2 is a successor to the title and the fifth installment of the Devil Summoner series. It is a turn-based narrative RPG that is played out by the decisions made by Ringo. Unlike other RPGs, this game simply features two endings at its conclusion. Several players are confused about which end can get them to the true or best ending that is canon to the plot. Today Atlus released a new daily trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing another demon included in the game. This time around the trailer focuses on Mot, that first appeared in the original Soul Hackers’ predecessor Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner. As usual, we also get the daily horoscope with a ranking of signs from the luckiest to the unluckiest. Scorpio is at the top, while Taurus is the bottom feeder....

Today Atlus released another daily trailer of its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will appear in the game. This time around the trailer reveals the return of Cybele, a demon who debuted in the original Soul Hackers’ predecessor Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner but was recently skipped in Shin Megami Tensei V. As usual, the trailer also includes the daily horoscope displaying Scorpio at the top of the fortune ranking and Virgo at the bottom....

Atomic Heart, the immersive first-person shooter from Mundfish, is on its way to the next generation of hardware (via Gematsu). “Our game will have no loading screens due to [the] fast SSD,” said the developer to IGN. “Next-gen hardware also provides an exclusive opportunity to fulfill our artistic vision and deliver our game with stunning visuals with no downgrading, which was absolutely essential for current gen.” These “stunning visuals” include a strange goo which suspends fish that swim in its globules, robot bees, spooky androids, all set within a Soviet research facility, known as VDNKH....

Insomniac Games has announced that Spider-Man on PlayStation 4 will receive a new costume inspired by Marvel cinematic behemoth, Avengers Infinity War. The web-slinging superhero will be able to kit himself out in the Iron Spider suit, which will be available to anyone who pre-orders the upcoming PS4-exclusive action-adventure game. Much like the Spider-Punk suit, the Iron Spider will boast some unique abilities, although Insomniac’s keeping mum on exactly what they are for now....

When it comes to Nintendo’s most significant releases of the past 10 years, most would - quite rightly - point towards the towering achievement of The Legend of Zelda: The Breath of the Wild, though for me there’s a game that came out a few years before that’s every bit as important. The Wii U era was a commercial nadir for Nintendo, enlightened by the spark of something new; the lurid splash of colour that was Splatoon, a long-awaited all-new IP from the house that built Mario, and an impeccably enjoyable subversion of the modern-day shooter....

Ubisoft has confirmed that Splinter Cell’s grizzly hero Sam Fisher will be sneaking his way into Ghost Recon Wildlands for an appearance in Special Operations 1. Starting today, players will be able to team up with Fisher — voiced once again by the gruff tones of Michael Ironside — on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One, and will be followed by a free weekend where all of the game’s content will be ripe for the picking from April 12 – April 15....
