It’s fair to say that things quickly spiraled out of control once the first Sonic the Hedgehog movie trailer arrived back in April. Sonic’s movie design was panned by fans and critics alike, prompting Paramount Pictures and director Jeff Fowler to quickly scramble to delay and redesign the iconic character. The decision proved to be a good one as fan reaction improved considerably, but the overhaul wasn’t without its own set of drawbacks....

In the torrent of CES news, Sony announced that it has now sold more than 30 million PlayStation 5 consoles worldwide, an increase of five million sales since the release of the last sales figures in October. This is despite the fact Sony raised the price of the console in a number of territories in August. Sony also declared that the global console shortage is over. “Everyone who wants a PS5 should have a much easier time finding one at retailers globally, starting from this point forward,” said PlayStation chief Jim Ryan....

Atlus has released another daily trailer for the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2 focusing on a location in the game and a dish you can grab there. This trailer showcases the ramen shop named Ramen-ya in Karakucho, where you can buy a hearty bowl of wonton noodles called “Hagoromo Wantan-Men.” Like most daily trailers, we also get the daily horoscope, which sees Leo at the top of the fortune ranking and Libra at the bottom....

Today Atlus released another daily trailer of its upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on one of the demons that will appear in the game. We take a look at Mothman, another classic demon that debuted in the original Soul Hackers’ predecessor Shin Megami Tensei: Devil Summoner. Recently, it also appeared in Shin Megami Tensei V. As usual, the trailer also includes a daily horoscope displaying Pisces at the top of the fortune ranking, and Taurus at the bottom....

Picking up shortly after Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) life resumed in Avengers: Endgame—but five years after being dusted into oblivion in Avengers: Infinity War—life has carried on as it used to. There is plenty of humor to be found about everyone important in Peter’s orbit having been “blipped” out of existence and back again. Now they simply act like it was barely an inconvenience, so don’t expect any scenes dealing with that existential angst that might stem from seeing what undiscovered country lies beyond....

This evening CIG mailed Star Citizen Concierge backers to announce a special event which will take place on 4 May. Concierge backers are the die-hard backers who have pumped more than $1000 into the project so far. This special event will include a tour of the L.A studio, a dinner and a sit-down with Chris Roberts and “key members of the dev team”. CIG will be filming the event which will be shown at a later date....

A new damage model system has been implemented into the growingly impressive Star Citizen, creating what can only be described as the most realistic ship damage you’ll see in video games today. The new system makes use of four different elements: temperature, burn, thickness and deformation. “Using these four damage values we can make the hull glow with heat, make paint burn and bubble, peel paint off to expose the underlying metal, dent and deform the surface, and even cut holes through the hull to expose the internal wiring and mechanics,” explains the Roberts Space Industries blog....

We finally got out first look at footage from Star Wars Episode IX as well as the movie’s title, The Rise of Skywalker. Besides plenty of action, the first teaser trailer shows us all the heroes back together for one last showdown with Kylo Ren and the First Order. Rey’s learned a few new Jedi tricks, Poe and Finn are on an epic adventure together, and Kylo Ren seems as ruthless as ever....

Rugby 18 recently released on the PC and it was not exactly stellar when it comes to recreating the sports’ action. The development team has spent the past couple of weeks since launch looking at the feedback and they are going try and improve the action in a new update. Today’s latest leak is yet again for the as-yet-unannounced sequel Diablo 4, apparently coming from the artbook that the first Diablo 4 leak stemmed from. Instead of an advertisement to buy the Diablo artbook, however, this leak claims to feature one of the artboook’s actual pages. It’s not just any page, either, as the leaked page appears to tease or confirm what could be one of Diablo 4’s main villains....

Predictions that the BioWare developed massively multiplayer online role playing game Star Wars: The Old Republic would see release sometime in Spring of this year seem to have been overly optimistic. According to MCV UK, “development sources” put the release of the title at September 2011. The Old Republic has been in development for over two years and is allegedly the largest and most content-filled game BioWare has ever made. Plenty of information has been made available on the title, including classes, planets, and ships....

Just as After Burner Climax is hitting Xbox LIVE Arcade and PSN, Sega West has announced that they are re-focusing their San Francisco offices on electronically distributed content. Sega London will now be responsible for Sega West’s retail games. These moves represent a significant restructuring for Sega West, and also include a 12% reduction in the company’s workforce. Sega San Francisco will lose 36 people, while Sega London will lose 37....
