Today, Devolver Digital and Flying Wild Hogs released what looks to be the third and final gameplay trailer for their upcoming first-person shooter, Shadow Warrior 3. Shenmue 3’s Big Merry Cruise DLC will arrive on March 17, and it comes with a new cruise ship to explore and gambling minigames (via Push Square). This will be the third and final DLC for the game, following the Battle Rally and Story Quest DLCs that rolled out earlier this year. Battle Rally let players partake in arcade-style races as Ryo, Ren, or Wei Zhen, and Story Quest brought “new quests full of mystery, intrigue and action” with the return of Zhang Shugin....

Masahiro Ito, the art director of Silent Hill 2 and Silent Hill 3, revealed that he is working on a new game as a “core member” (via Game Rant). So, when Ito mentioned that he’s working on an entirely new game, everyone got very excited. Details are scant, but it’s possible that Ito has been brought on as a “core member” of a new intellectual property. He has said that he would like to collaborate on a new Silent Hill game with Hideo Kojima, but we all know how that went down with Konami....

Focus Entertainment & Saber Interactive have announced SnowRunner is coming to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 on May 31. The off-road driving game will get its new-gen upgrades in just less than two months’ time. They’ll be able to tackle the game’s tough terrain and punishing weather conditions in up to 4K UHD resolution at 60FPS. Those on the PlayStation 5 will also enjoy Haptic Feedback support via the console’s DualSense controller....

SnowRunner, the upcoming sequel to Spintires: MudRunner, has been in development for a good bit of time at this point. Development studio Saber Interactive has been steadily releasing new details about the game for the past few weeks. Now, the game’s official website has gone live. The new website shows off SnowRunner’s laundry list of features like it’s sandbox-style maps, details on the rough terrain, vehicle customization, and robust vehicle selection from a healthy variety of different licensed manufacturers....

Sonic Frontiers is the “cornerstone of future Sonic games”, just as Sonic Adventure was back in 1998. That’s according to Sonic Team head Takashi Iizuka, in an interview with Sector (via The Gamer). Discussing the structure of the latest game in the series, it seems the open zone design will be the new standard. The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has accrued $57 million in the U.S. and Canada since its premiere, which smashed the record for the biggest opening weekend by a video game movie adaptation, previously set by Detective Pikachu (via Twinfinite). The movie was expected to generate $40–50 million from theatres across the countries in its four-day President’s Day opening weekend, but then it made $21 million on its first day. Estimates were upped to $64 million, and the movie has now earned $68 million in the United States and Canada, and $43 million in the rest of the world, for a grand total of $111 million....

Sony has announced two new upcoming Android-based tablets, codenamed the S1 (pictured above on the left) and S2 (pictured above on the right). While the designs are not 100% finalized, Sony has provided details about each tablet. The S1 is optimized for rich media entertainment and S2 is made for mobile communication and entertainment. The tablets are expected to become available in the global market starting in fall 2011. Both will come equipped with the latest Android 3....

Niko Partners analyst Daniel Ahmed has revealed that a large chunk of Sony’s first-party development studios are now shifting focus to the PlayStation 5. Writing in a post on ResetEra (via Gear Nuke), Ahmed said that the PS4 still has a solid year ahead of it, with Sony still yet to announce a bunch of games based on existing IP. PS5 development kits are out in the wild, too, although he said it’s still ’early’ to talk about next-generation consoles....

“We do value PC gamers,” says Hermen Hulst, Head of PlayStation Studios, in a post on the PlayStation Blog. Hulst was speaking about what is next for PlayStation, in a post imaginatively titled “What’s Next for PlayStation Studios.” On the subject of bringing PlayStation exclusives to PC, Hulst said, “We’ll continue to look at the right times to launch each game. Bend Studio just released the PC version of Days Gone on May 18....

I used to love turn-based RPGs. However, as I got older, I started to find them more and more boring. Most of them feel incredibly interchangeable to me, to the point that I often didn’t feel like they had gameplay as much as a bunch of mostly identical experiences with different coats of paint. That is, barring anything with the Shin Megami Tensei name attached to it. The series has always been fun to me, as I’ve long loved the careful balancing of weakness exploitation, demon fusing, and proper utilization of buffs....

IDW Publishing has announced a horror-themed Star Wars comics adventure called Star Wars Adventures: Return to Vader’s Castle. Return to Vader’s Castle will follow roughly the same format and tone established by the previous IDW series, Tales from Vader’s Castle. That series told five Star Wars stories mixed with classic horror themes that referenced a variety of classic horror works. This new series offers more of the same, but this time around, the premise is that each of the five stories will focus on a major Star Wars villain....

DICE has confirmed an August 29 release for its upcoming Elite Corps update for Star Wars Battlefront II. The meaty patch will add a host of new features for the troubled sci-fi shooter, including the 41st Elite Corps and 327th Star Corps troopers. The new trilogy of Star Wars movies has revealed many different secrets from the history of the series, but fans now have an answer for a question that should have never been uncovered, as a new toy shows what a Jawa looks like under its robe. Jawas were some of the first alien species revealed in Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope, as they were natives of Tatooine and often sold scavenged goods to the local moisture farmers, which is how Luke Skywalker met C-3PO and R2-D2....
