Steam has long been the one-stop-shop for many gamers seeking a deal on awesome video games. The distribution platform is notorious for its insane deals, especially around the holidays. It seems that gamers can experience those discounts every day, now that Steam has announced that they’ll be offering a daily deal on the service. Each day Steam usually has a sale of some form, however with this new ‘Daily Deal’ it seems that a title will be offered at a deeper discount – much to the delight of fans of the service....

Once again no change at the top in this week’s Steam Top Sellers with PUBG holding firm for another week. It’s only been knocked off the top twice so far this year. The ocean survival game Raft has been doing well since it launched a few weeks ago rising to second place this week. Vampyr manages third and sixth place in its release week and Jurassic World Evolution, which releases next week, is in fourth for pre-orders....

Paradox Interactive’s sci-fi strategy game Stellaris is expanding once more, this time with a new Story Pack DLC focused on civilisations’ early encounters with alien visitors. First Contact, as the newly announced DLC is known, will be Stellaris’ fifth Story Pack - mid-sized expansions designed to expand the game’s narrative potential - following on from Leviathans, Synthetic Dawn, Distant Stars, and Ancient Relics. “For countless ages,” says Paradox in a bout of scene-setting, “your people have looked to the stars with wonder - is there anybody else out there?...

That’s what some modders are already doing, with tons of mods on the Nexus Mods website featuring a bunch of personal felines. These cats are reskins of people’s favorite furry friends, such as this cat named Jessy, who is based on a real cat named Jessy....

The recent Coronavirus outbreak has been a looming threat across the world, especially in areas of Southeast Asia where the viral outbreak first began to spread. As a result, events and gatherings happening in high risk areas, including eSports events like Overwatch League, have been postponed, moved and canceled to limit the spread of the virus. Doctors in affected areas have quickly responded to the outbreak, treating patients and developing new treatments and vaccines to limit the outbreak moving forward....

Rune Factory 4 was a game I put a hell of a lot of hours into back on the Nintendo 3DS. The rhythm of taking care of your crops, fighting through dungeons, and making sure my gear was up to the task of getting me through the game’s challenges had me hooked. The game is almost 10 years old now, but little has been done to dilute its core appeal, even if some aspects of it could surely have used some updates....

Samsung reveals its line of Odyssey gaming monitors, which all have QLED screens. At CES 2020, Samsung also announced SelfieType, which is an invisible keyboard that can be used with mobile devices. G7 and G9 are the names of the new Samsung Odyssey monitors which will launch in Q2 2020. There are three models of the curved monitors as the G7 comes in 27" and 32" versions and the G9 is available as a 49" version....

SEGA and Creative Assembly have released a new video feature which aims to explain the joys of the Total War franchise – in particular the imminent Total War: Warhammer – to newcomers. Developer Sloclap has revealed a roadmap of free updates coming to kung-fu brawler Sifu over the rest of the year. The 2022 roadmap reveals four bundles of new features that the team will add to the game, based on fan feedback since it launched in February. Most imminently, players can expect the first round of new additions next Tuesday, on May 3. That update will bring along new difficulty options, advanced training and outfit selection....

The UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has today decided to launch an in-depth investigation into Apple and Google, looking at the restrictions set by each company that affect access to smartphone cloud gaming. The move follows an earlier proposal to investigate the two companies’ market power, and a year-long study of the iPhone and Android ecosystems. That report, published in June, determined Apple and Google held “an effective duopoly” over smartphone markets, allowing them to “exercise a stranglehold” over mobile operating systems, app stores and web browsers....

Open world off-road sim SnowRunner is landing on Xbox Game Pass from today, publisher Focus Home Interactive and developer Saber Interactive have announced. The game—the sequel to 2017’s MudRunner—puts you in charge of an off-road cargo delivery company who must take jobs of delivering cargo across a range of difficult terrain including, as you’d expect from the title, snowy mountains and rocky mountain roads using a multitude of vehicles designed for treacherous conditions....

Back in May the first trailer for Paramount Studios’ Sonic the Hedgehog movie was released to the sound of an audible splat. A wave of backlash at the blue furball’s lanky limbs and horrifyingly human teeth rippled throughout the internet. It was bad. As the memes began piling up, the film’s director Jeff Fowler took up a cause to redesign the ‘hog. Six months later, and past the original release date of November 8, Sonic has a new look....

Bandai Namco Games has announced that SoulCalibur VI is bringing back another classic character, with unpredictable oddball Voldo returning to the fold. Debuting in Soul Blade, Voldo has a unique if slightly creepy fighting style, although don’t let that put you off; he’s able to dish out some serious punishment with his weapons Manas & Ayus. An interesting aspect of Voldo is that he’s not able to see or speak. He has a penchant for outlandish costumes and looks a bit weird at times, but then again, that’s Voldo’s thing; he’s become an iconic character due to his design, and is one of the most recognisable fighters from the series as a result....

Ah, Spring: birds singing, flowers blooming, and the Spring Fever Sale on PSN. That’s right, from March 25th through June 1st, Sony will be offering weekly sales on all kinds of PSN content. Kicking things off today, two PSN games have had their prices cut in half: Everyday Shooter and Gravity Crash. Everday Shooter hardly needs an introduction, but on the off chance you know nothing about it, imagine an art-damaged techno-psychedelic version of Geometry Wars with a low-fi indie-rock soundtrack that responds to your actions, and you’re pretty much there....

When a new trademark for the name Symbiogenesis was spotted last month, Parasite Eve fans started getting excited. After all, it’s been years since The Third Birthday and the series has stayed quiet since. Unfortunately, the trademark for Symbiogenesis has turned out to be the name for an NFT project by Square Enix. And this is not very good news. Earlier today, Square Enix tweeted out a short teaser for the event....
