As promised, IGN has shared the first, full gameplay trailer for Sonic Frontiers as part of IGN First. It’s roughly seven minutes long, starring a mostly mute Sonic as he grinds rails, completes simple puzzles, and bounces on pads. The grand premier for Sonic’s first open-world adventure showcased a lot of features, but mostly came off as a game with a lot more work ahead of it. Sonic is still Sonic in the gameplay trailer, though....

Team Sonic Racing developer Sumo Digital has offered the first glimpse at Team Eggman, comprised of the villainous Dr. Robotnik (I refuse to call him Eggman; I grew up with him when he was known as Robotnik, okay?) and his fellow flunkies. Sonic’s arch nemesis is joined by Metal Sonic, who you probably know from his first appearance in Sonic the Hedgehog 2 among others, and Zavok, who made his debut in Sonic and the Lost World....

Splatoon 3 is the third and latest installment of the famous Splatoon series developed and published by Nintendo. The game lets you reclaim all the fun from the predecessors but with some new and cool additions. Play as Inklings or Octolings to splat the enemies in the inky world of Splatlands. This game also focuses on customization and personalization of the in-game character in detail. Such customizations can be obtained by progressing in the game or by gaining rewards from the developers....

Nintendo appears to be pretty happy with the sales success of Splatoon, noting that the game has actually consistently outperformed Mario Kart 8 in Japan. Speaking following its third quarter financial results, president Tatsumi Kimishima outlined just how well the ink-based shooter has been doing. “Splatoon has been showing steady sales for a long time since its release last May. It has shipped 4.06 million units worldwide as of the end of the third quarter of this fiscal year,” said Kimishima....

Splitgate, the first-person shooter/portal hopping game, is kind of popular. Okay, in reality the game has become so popular that developer 1047 Games was repeatedly required to take servers down for maintenance, while also delaying the official launch — keeping it in open beta. Today, however, the developer has announced that Splitgate will have its open beta extended “for the foreseeable future,” as the team continues its work. But that’s not all....

During the late ’90s and early ’00s, everybody was still cashing in on the ceaseless wave of Super Mario 64 knockoffs based on licensed properties. They were generally focused around collecting 100 or so special objects and were typically not very good. This angle plagues Stan in regards to his demon fighting, it strikes Bill with how he simply isa demon, and even Eccles isn’t free of this pain and feels frustration with how he still needs to hunt down Stan after all of this time....

Hot on the heels of announcing NBA 2K21 for Xbox Game Pass earlier today, Xbox has unveiled the rest of the titles coming along in the first of the usual bi-monthly updates for Xbox Games Pass subscribers this month. Joining NBA 2K21 then will be American Football sim Madden NFL 21 which is available on Console from today, followed by Football Manager 2021 for PC on March 4 and the console-tweaked Football Manager 2021 Xbox Edition on the same day....

Star Wars: The Old Republic, Bioware’s MMORPG set in the Star Wars universe, is set to receive a new expansion, its first in almost three years. The game, called Onslaught, is coming in September and will be free to all subscribers. The expansion was announced by Charles Boyd, creative director for Star Wars: The Old Republic, at the recent Star Wars Celebration event in Chicago. During the announcement, players were given quite a large amount of details about the upcoming pack....

Electronic Arts has teased the next major content update for Star Wars Battlefront II, which is known as The Chosen One. As you might have twigged, the update will add Anakin Skywalker to the roster, the legendary Jedi who would later become Star Wars’ resident Big Bad, Darth Vader. As expected, his appearance in Battlefront II is based off Hayden Christensen’s portrayal of the character in the Star Wars prequel trilogy....

It’s difficult to talk about the problems Fallen Order has right now because it’s fair to expect a great many of them to be fixed in upcoming patches. The frame rate dips, long load times, pausing, and bad textures are all well known issues at this point, especially on console, and it’s likely Respawn has some fixes in the works. A major problem Fallen Order has that will never be fixed, though, is the underdeveloped and disappointing customization system....

Stardew Valley, the farming role-playing game/dungeon-crawler/marriage simulator, has a new update in the works planning to release on PC on November 26th, and on console and mobile in the weeks following. Eric Barone (aka ConcernedApe), the creator of Stardew Valley, announced the release date on the Stardew Valley Developer Blog on November 12th. Microsoft’s Phil Spencer confirmed yesterday that the company is beavering away on a new Xbox One console, and that new system apparently now has a codename: Scarlet. That’s at least according to sources at Game Informer, who noted that the codename may refer to multiple products, or the initiative as a whole. Microsoft is obviously keeping mum on any further details at this point, and who knows when the new Xbox will actually show up....
