WWE 2K20 has been immediately met with a negative reception, and the hashtag #FixWWE2K20 has been trending since the release day of the game. This is hardly surprising when the recorded glitches, that have been uploaded online, are seen. Simply put, the game doesn’t work sometimes. Fortunately for PlayStation players, Sony is offering to refund the game because of its incomplete state. Ubisoft has staple-gunned a September 25 release date to the Nintendo Switch version of South Park: The Stick of Truth. The potty-mouthed RPG will be available for Ninty’s console via the eShop, priced at $29.99. The game follows swiftly on the release of the Switch version of South Park: The Fractured But Whole earlier this year, when it also turned up on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Originally released in 2014 on last-generation consoles and PC, The Stick of Truth features a story penned by show creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone....

The Halo TV series from Steven Spielberg – separate to the episodic Halo Nightfall series – remains in development at Showtime, although comments made by the studio’s president suggest we won’t be seeing the series for some time. Final Fantasy VII Remake has sold over 3.5 million copies around the world in the three days since its launch on April 10. It is also possible that the Final Fantasy VII Remake will see a surge of sales once its exclusivity agreement expires. Upon April 10, 2021, the game will become multiplatform, though we aren’t sure which ones. PC code was dredged from the PlayStation 4 demo, and because we know that the remake will be a PlayStation 5 title, it might be an Xbox Series X title, too....

Star Control Origins developer Stardock is celebrating another victory. The company has announced that its space-faring adventure game has returned to GOG.com for sale. The franchise’s original creators, Fred Ford and Paul Reiche III, filed a DMCA takedown notice in December, claiming that Origins too closely resembled Star Control II and, therefore, infringed on their copyright. This caused the game’s removal from both GOG and Steam at the beginning of January....

Criterion Games has announced via Twitter that Star Wars Battlefront 2 has now gone gold, meaning the space shooter has made it through training with Master Yoda (read: development) and is ready to make its November 17 release date. The EA-published shooter, co-developed by Criterion and DICE, lands on PS4, Xbox One and PC and will feature a singleplayer campaign about 5-7 hours long. It’ll see players take up the mantle of Iden Versio, leader of an Imperial death squad and daughter of a high ranking commander of the Empire....

EA has canceled another Star Wars game, we learned this week, with a proposed spinoff of the Star Wars: Battlefront franchise apparently being binned last year. We’re finding out about it now thanks to a detailed report from Kotaku, who spoke to six different people in the know in order to bring this news to light. You may already know some details of EA’s somewhat tumultuous time with the Star Wars license: although the team at EA have managed to publish two Star Wars: Battlefront games and one single-player title, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, they’ve also canceled a game codenamed Project Ragtag, a heist-based title that Uncharted‘s Amy Hennig worked on until 2017, and a game codenamed Orca, an open-world experience that EA Vancouver worked on until 2018....

Surprise! Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is coming to Nintendo Switch on 8th June 2022. Confirmation came by way of Disney’s Star Wars Celebration 2022, which confirmed the 2004 Xbox game is now on the way to Nintendo’s handheld system. “Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 2: The Sith Lords is coming to Nintendo Switch on June 8th, 2022!” Nintendo exclaims on its official YouTube channel....

Eugen Systems has announced that it’s beavering away on Steel Division 2, a follow-up to the studio’s hit World War II-era strategy romp from 2017. Steel Division 2 plonks gamers in the events of the massive Soviet offensive known as Operation Bagration, which took place during the summer of 1944. Here, you’ll pit steel against steel in epic 10v10 multiplayer rucks, as well as a new turn-based solo offering known as Dynamic Strategic Campaign....

Rockstar has swooped in to buy a studio from Starbreeze amid its financial crisis, per Gamesindustry.biz. The Payday developers are in a world of trouble after recording a $17.5 million loss over the course of the fiscal year’s first quarter and they’re expecting a liquidity shortfall by the midpoint of this year unless new investors can be secured. On Monday, the publishers sold their 91.82 percent ownership in Dhruva Interactive to Rockstar for a reported $7....

Rockstar Games has announced that something related to Red Dead Redemption 2 will be shown at 4pm BST, September 28. As is Rockstar’s way, its announcement of this news is particularly vague, and it’s giving nothing away whatsoever. The announcement uses the Red Dead Redemption colour scheme, and the same font. No prizes for guessing what it’ll be. In all likelihood, it’ll probably be a trailer for the game, and perhaps it’ll give us our first teaser of the game’s story....

RollerCoaster Tycoon World has switched developer for a second time, Atari has revealed, with Montreal-based studio Nvizzio Creations now heading up development. The news was confirmed on the game’s website earlier this month. The management sim was previously being developed by Area 52 Games, which took over from original developer Pipeworks Software back in December. It isn’t clear why Area 52 is no longer working on the game. Judging by an earlier blog post, however, Nvizzio has actually been involved since at least May, although the studio’s name was only publicly revealed a few weeks ago....
