Item creators on Steam Workshop have been paid over $57 million since the service launched late in 2011, Valve has announced. These creators have been producing items for Team Fortress 2, Dota 2, and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. Rebellion Studios, the developer responsible for Aliens vs. Predator, is apparently having serious money troubles. The Derby, England division of Rebellion had laid off almost the entirety of its staff, leaving only a handful counting down the days until they two are told to go home. When that day finally passed, those remaining few were reportedly told to leave without the wages they were owed. That includes all wages for the month of April, and any redundancy payments for April that were previously agreed upon....

Chris Avellone has stated that he will never work with senior management personnel from Obsidian Entertainment again. The renowned game writer and designer, who was part of the team working on Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, left Obsidian in 2015 despite having helped launch the company. He has been publicly critical of its leadership ever since. World War II shooter Sniper Elite 5 will launch for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox platforms on May 26, developer Rebellion announced today. Chance “Sodapoppin” Morris was on top of the Twitch world last year while streaming World of Warcraft Classic, and now after a short one-month break, the streamer says he does not plan to return to playing the game live on his channel in the future.
