Epic Games has today announced that ‘underdog’ Southpaw will be the skin headlining the Fortnite Crew offering for May 2022, and will come with a number of other cosmetics and in-game items that will release throughout the month. The news comes via a post on the official Fortnite blog, which includes a brief trailer for the Southpaw skin. The outfit is a female character clad in an arm suit comprised of two mechanical arms....

The combination of automata and the backdrop of the French Revolution makes for an already interesting premise, with the combat set to be another key element to draw players in. Unfortunately, that vision is going to take longer to come to life, as Nacon has officially announced a delay for Steelrising to September 8 2022....
Following last week’s surprise announcement that Google would be shutting down Stadia in January, the platform’s small but dedicated community have petitioned Google to allow the controller to work on other platforms wirelessly. The Stadia controller currently works on other devices via a USB cable, but it also has wireless functionality in the form of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth that’s firmware locked. While owners wait for a response from Google, some have taken matters into their own hands with some quirky workarounds....
The Xbox presentation has grown over the years to encompass more than just console games. With the launch of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate on PC, there are now more games coming to both platforms. During the showcase, it was revealed that GSC Game World has been working on STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl, which is coming to PC on April 28, 2022. STALKER 2 also got a new gameplay trailer, featuring some nasty enemies....
This Star Trek: Picard review contains major spoilers. Hoo boy, Star Trek: Picard dumped a whole lot of information on us in its eighth installment, “Broken Pieces,” but writer/showrunner Michael Chabon does it with character-illuminating panache, setting most of the hour’s action on the La Sirena ship, and letting conspiracy theorist Raffi put the pieces together for us. The answers are less exciting than Picard perhaps wants them to be, but the process of finding them out, which exposes some important backstory for many of our recurring characters, makes this episode soar....
Star Wars Celebration 2019 brought all corners of the Star Wars universe under one roof for a weekend of news, trailers, and surprises from the galaxy far, far away. This year, all eyes were on Episode IX, which was the focus of the convention’s first big panel. Besides appearances from the cast and crew, we finally learned the movie’s official title and watched the first bit of footage. The trailer was absolutely gorgeous and full of crazy teases!...
Disney might be pumping the brakes on Star Wars movies for a little while after Episode IX, but there will still be plenty of new live-action series to watch between 2019 and when the next movie arrives in 2022. Disney CEO Bob Iger, speaking at a media presentation attended by Deadline, confirmed that a third live-action series will join The Mandalorian and the Cassian Andor Rogue One prequel on Disney’s on-demand streaming service, Disney+....
An “all-new Star Wars Battlefront gaming experience” is being developed by DICE and Lucasfilm exclusively for PlayStation VR, Sony has announced. The game was revealed during Sony’s PS VR briefing at GDC last night, although we don’t yet know what it looks like or whether it will be a standalone title or an add-on to last year’s multiplayer shooter. A release date hasn’t been announced either. Ultimately, we don’t know anything about it other than it’s in development and it will be exclusive to PlayStation VR, with Sony promising more news to come “in the months ahead”....
Valve is aiming to take a big step in improving Steam Greenlight by replacing it with a system it’s calling Steam Direct, which is targeted for spring 2017. Steam Direct aims to provide developers with a new direct sign-up system, offering a clear path to getting their games on Steam. “We will ask new developers to complete a set of digital paperwork, personal or company verification, and tax documents similar to the process of applying for a bank account,” explains Valve....

The new job listings at Guerilla Games suggest that the Horizon Zero Dawn sequel could be a multiplayer game. The listings don’t state exactly which game they are working on, but the description of an open-world game with melee and ranged combat, and traversal mechanics hints at the return of our favorite huntress. The first game was a resounding success thanks to its original storyline, brilliant graphics, and fluid fight mechanics and there’s no doubt that there’s a sequel in the works....
In not surprising news, Sega is in the midst of something very stupid. However, very surprisingly, it isn’t actually their fault this time around. Keep in mind that everything discussed here is rumor until it is confirmed by any of the parties involved. A Japanese entertainment publication named Nikkan Taishu has reported that the Judgment series will end due to disputes over releasing the game on the PC. For those that don’t know, Judgment is a spin-off of the Yakuza series....
Earlier today on Twitter, Ryan Reynolds dropped a video with two of the biggest MCU announcements since Secret Wars and Kang Wars were revealed at San Diego Comic-Con. A third film in the Deadpool franchise has long been talked about, but there was never any official announcement from any of the big names at Marvel Studios on how the crass invincible hero would fit into the MCU. Another day, another alleged Silent Hill leak. This one purports to be of Bloober Team’s alleged Silent Hill 2 remake. They’re incredibly small and incredibly bad quality, which means they’re impossible to confirm either way with any credible veracity, but the poster shared the images with the legend: “First leaked image of Silent Hill 2 Remake supposedly developed by Bloober Team”. As for what they show? We seem to be looking at a third-person POV with the camera behind the left shoulder rather than a fixed angle....
Sean Bean is racing against the clock in a new Sky original production that’s hoping to keep us all in after dark when it arrives on Sky One in February. We knew the show stars Bean alongside the likes of Billy Zane, Miranda Richardson, Adrian Lester, Phoebe Fox and Adam Brody – and we knew it has something to do with street racing, a totalitarian government, and a mysterious night-time curfew, but beyond that, the show was pretty shrouded in secrecy....
During the press rounds for his coming-of-age teenage dramedy, Eighth Grade, director Bo Burnham has told anybody who will listen about how beneficial it was to speak with actual eighth graders. “Facebook doesn’t happen anymore,” Burnham told Consequence of Sound. ‘Kids aren’t on Facebook. Facebook was written into the script, and then I talked to the kids, and they were like, ‘We’re not on Facebook.’” I couldn’t help but think of Burnham’s anecdote while watching Sony’s viral slasher Slender Man....
This month’s PLAY Blackpool event, which takes place at the Norcalympia Exhibition Centre in Blackpool between April 30-May 1, will feature the world premiere public gameplay of Jon Hare’s Sociable Soccer, the spiritual successor to Sensible Soccer.
