Shenmue III continues its troubled journey towards release. This newest scandal comes from the fact that Kickstarter backers will not be receiving pre-order content. As spotted by Wccftech, Kickstarter user Antonio Miranda posted an email he received from Ys Net under the latest update on the campaign’s blog: So, the versions that Kickstarter/Slacker backers will receive will have unique content, but it won’t include pre-order stuff from retail versions of Shenmue III....
A fan remake of Silent Hill is underway, in Unreal Engine, and there is a new video showcasing ten minutes of gameplay, in the school sequence. A group of fans, under the name Codeless Games, is working on the remake. And it looks very impressive, indeed. Sega and Sonic Team have dropped the first footage of gameplay from upcoming adventure Sonic Frontiers. The companies uploaded the brief trailer yesterday, with everyone’s favourite super-speedy hedgehog pelting around lush green locales. Sony has revealed the next round of games to hit its PlayStation Plus subscription service this October for Premium and Extra subscribers. The headline addition is Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, the definitive edition version previously remastered for PS4 and PS5. But Dragon Quest fans will be happy with five games from the series added to PS Plus: Dragon Quest 11 S: Echoes of an Elusive Age, Dragon Quest Builders and its sequel, Dragon Quest Heroes: The World Tree’s Woe and the Blight Below, and Dragon Quest Heroes 2: Explorer’s Edition....
Sony is seeking a dismissal of a potential class-action lawsuit alleging gender discrimination, which was brought last year by a former employee. Last November, former PlayStation IT security analyst Emma Majo claimed Sony “wilfully violated” labour laws by “intentionally, knowingly, and/or deliberately paying women less than men for substantially equal or similar work”. As well as “lower pay levels”, women were “denied promotions”, Majo alleged, saying that these “discriminatory employment practices, policies, and procedures are centrally established and implemented at the highest levels of Sony”....

Today Atlus released one of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, focusing on some of the demons that will be featured in the game. Today’s video showcases another Sabbath, a feature of the game that lets you unleash a bunch of demons at the same time for a bonus attack. Focus Home Interactive has announced that Space Hulk: Deathwing – Enhanced Edition will be released on PlayStation 4 and PC this Spring, which marks the game’s debut for Sony’s flagship games console. Nintendo has finally revealed the release date for the highly-anticipated Splatoon 3 with a four-minute-long gameplay video. The family-friendly squid kid shooter will be coming to Nintendo Switch later this year on Sept. 9. Stardew Valley developer ConcernedApe has confirmed on Twitter that the game’s Switch multiplayer update is ticking along nicely. Creator Eric Barone revealed that the update has been sent to QA, so presumably it won’t be long until we get our hands on it.
