Rockstar Games has bid farewell to its vice president of product development Jeronimo Barrera, with the veteran dev leaving the Grand Theft Auto creator after more than 20 years with the company. Barrera actually left Rockstar in December last year not long after the release of Red Dead Redemption 2, and referred to his departure as a ’natural progression.’ However, he’s yet to reveal his plans for the future. ‘I thought it was the best decision ever to get everybody on board to centralise the technology and the pipelines,’ Barrera said of his role....

Big changes are coming to Fortnite. In the past, Epic Games has been satisfied simply adding new Places of Interest to the Fortnite battle royale map, but Season 11 is bringing with it Chapter 2, along with what many are expecting to be a completely new map. Fortnite Chapter 2 and Season 11 with it are both expected to kick off tomorrow, October 13 at 11:00am PT, and fans are excited to see what the new map looks like....

New Battlefield 1 artwork rumoured to be linked to an unannounced ‘Premium’ membership has reportedly been found in the game’s closed alpha files. A placeholder logo for Battlefield 1 Premium (right) plus two previously unseen pieces of artwork (above) are alleged to have been uncovered in the files by a user on Reddit, before being uploaded to Imgur. EA has yet to announce plans for Battlefield 1 Premium, but has launched similar services for the three most recent games in the franchise....

Today, a new Treasure Hunter promo went live in RuneScape, which differs greatly from its predecessors. Gifts of the Creator is the first-ever RuneScape Treasure Hunter promo to completely avoid any suggestion of gambling. Unlike other promos, the rewards given in the new iteration are fixed, meaning that players know exactly what they are getting every time. Treasure Hunter is a form of microtransaction present in Jagex’s popular MMORPG. Keys that are bought with real money can be traded in for chests containing various items....

HappyGiant has announced Sam & Max: This Time It’s Virtual! will see the Freelance Police’s latest adventure arrive on PlayStation VR next week. The adventure game originally launched for the Oculus/Meta Quest 2 last summer. It puts you almost-literally in the shoes of a new rookie who applies to be part of the Freelance Police. Today D3 Publisher released a new gallery of screenshots of its upcoming “Girls Sword-fighting Action” game Samurai Maiden. Specifically, we get to see the game’s titular maidens. Tsumugi Tamaori is our isekai protagonist, transported from the modern era to the Sengoku period. She has been studying the katana since her childhood and she’s single-minded and hot-blooded. She’s accompanied by three ninjas who support her. Iyo is a shinobi in service of Oda Nobunaga....

In a surprising, and somewhat confounding, bit of news, developer Nightdive Studios has revealed that they are remastering the “cult classic” action-adventure title, Shadow Man. Originally released in 1999, Shadow Man was based on the Shadowman comic book series. The game told the story of a man named Michael LeRoi who becomes the latest member of a long line of voodoo warriors who protects us from the creatures of the Deadside....

Indie RPG Sin Slayers: The First Sin came to life with a Kickstarter campaign. Developed by Goonswarm, makers of Alteric and Pandarama: The Lost Toys, it’s a pixel art style game with a turn-based combat system. While at first, it seemed a little repetitive, as soon as I began to unlock new characters and features I was quickly drawn into this world of sin and corruption. Slaying The Sinners Sin Slayers is set in the Valley of Fallen Sinners, with a number of foes corrupted by sin residing within its lands....

The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series is out today for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC through the Epic Games store, as announced by developer Skybound Games. The collection wraps up the entirety of Clementine’s story, including all four Seasons, 400 Days, and The Walking Dead: Michonne in 23 heartrending episodes. It also contains ten hours of developer commentary from the developers, voice actors, and behind the scenes content. Moreover, The Walking Dead: The Telltale Definitive Series includes over 40 tracks from all past seasons, an art gallery, a 3D model viewer with voice lines, and new 3D front end that shows the original menus and their music....

Bethesda Game Studios are champions at creating worlds that people want to play in and explore for hundreds of hours. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is arguably their most successful release and has taken the world by storm. We’ve seen multiple version of the game on multiple platforms. Did we mention that it’s also coming to the Nintendo Switch? It will also support amiibo functionality as they showed swiping a Link amiibo on the dock results in the player receiving a chest in Skyrim that contains a Breath of the Wild costume as well as the legendary Master Sword....

Sony has confirmed the existence of PlayStation 4 Neo, an upgraded version of the current PlayStation 4 hardware. The console will be a “high-end PS4” that supports 4K resolutions and enhanced graphics, and will be more expensive than the current $350 model, Sony Interactive Entertainment president Andrew House revealed to the Financial Times. “It is intended to sit alongside and complement the standard PS4,” he said. “We will be selling both [versions] through the life cycle....

The official Space Channel 5 Twitter account has some news for us: the long-dormant franchise will be coming back in Spring of 2020. The account, which mostly posts in Japanese, made a couple rare English-language tweets announcing the game’s return.
