Excerpts from the abandoned Deux Ex: Human Revolution movie script have surfaced online, giving us our best view yet of the project. Around a decade ago, plans were in place for director Scott Derrickson and co-writer C. Robert Cargill to adapt Eidos Montreal’s popular cyberpunk shooter into a film. But it wasn’t to be. Derrickson and Cargill were snapped up by Marvel to make Doctor Strange, and without the duo onboard, production company CBS Films lost interest and moved on....

Rare has pinned a May 29 release date on The Hungering Deep, the first major content update for PC and Xbox One plunder-’em-up Sea of Thieves. The Hungering Deep is the first of six major expansions planned to set sail for the game this year, and will see a new enemy threat causing havoc for nautical adventurers, and is described as a ‘medium-sized’ update. In addition, budding pirates can also look forward to new mechanics and rewards, although Rare’s not saying too much right now....

Today Sega announced the beginning of the celebrations for the 15th anniversary of the beloved strategy JRPG Valkyria Chronicles. The game was originally released in Japan for PS3 on April 24, 2008, so the anniversary will happen on April 23, 2023. According to the press release, it has sold over a million copies including the remastered version and digital downloads. The beginning of the celebrations will be marked by an art exhibition and plenty of merchandise made available for sale....

Developer FoamPunch has announced snowboarding game Shredders will be coming to Xbox Series X|S and PC this December. First revealed as part of the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase, the game cites classic Xbox original title Amped as its inspiration. You’ll be breaking into the snowboarding event of the year and pulling off insane tricks as you prove your worth. You’ll have to master park riding, backcountry boarding, rails, kickers and more as you earn your place....

In what has been a rather turbulent journey on the open seas, Skull and Bones will receive yet another delay. The news of the delay surfaced on the internet earlier this afternoon before Ubisoft officially confirmed the rumor in an official blog post. Skull and Bones will officially launch on March 9, 2023. Per the announcement, the delay comes from the development team looking to polish the game after receiving “invaluable feedback” received during the game’s technical test and insider program....

Developer Monomi Park has been showing off some of the new locations in upcoming sequel Slime Rancher 2. The team has been publishing new screenshots and artwork from some of the sequel’s locales over several days this week. They’ve also offered details on some of the game’s slimes you’ll encounter in these regions. First off, the Rainbow Fields are where you’ll start your second adventure, “filled with happy hoppy cotton slimes”....

Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts is the latest tactical shooter from developer CI Games. Long-time players will already be familiar with the core gameplay, but they might be surprised by the environments. That’s because Sniper: Ghost Warrior Contracts features five massive maps that’ll become your personal sniping playground. These maps can be downright gorgeous thanks to the use of the CryEngine, easily trumping whatever the previous games had to offer. Sadly, the game doesn’t seem to be fully optimized for 4K....

CI Games has released a new trailer for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, focussing on the relationship between lead character American sniper Jonathan North and his rebellious brother Robert. The game will see players – as Jonathan North – dropped into enemy territory in northern Georgia, exploring large open world maps trying to work out who was responsible for the capture of your brother, and if he actually wanted to be captured....

Sony unveiled a new reduced pricing structure for its PlayStation Now service, which is its own brand of cloud streaming service first launched in 2015. Sony has attempted to entice users into using its service in the past by lowering the price and adding more titles to its library, with some success. As the Google Stadia nears its formal launch date in November, both Sony and Microsoft are reaching out to consumers to let them know that other options exist, and today’s announcement is looking quite attractive....

It has been roughly half a year since we’ve heard anything about Elden Ring, the collaborative effort between developer FromSoftware and writer George R.R. Martin (from Game of Thrones fame). Said to be an evolution of the Dark Souls formula, fans of that particular series have been dying to get a look at what From is cooking up. Will this be the next generation of ultra-tough action titles or just a retread of past ideas?...

Sony Computer Entertainment has launched a new short film series, Makers & Gamers, which brings game developers face-to-face with some of their biggest fans. The first film, Gamers & Makers: Journey, sees Journey creator Jenova Chen meet Sophia, a young girl whose life has been profoundly influenced by the game. The film was directed by Jesse Moss, the acclaimed documentary filmmaker behind The Overnighters and Full Battle Rattle. Sony is also asking fans to share ideas for other stories you’d like to see featured....

NetherRealm Studios has done some great things with the DLC characters for Mortal Kombat 11. Bringing in some, frankly, amazing guest characters, most fans are dying with anticipation to see how the iconic hero Spawn turns out. Creator Todd McFarlane is particularly jazz that his teenage developed goth guy is in and has even shared a new action figure design based around Spawn’s MK11 appearance. It’s maybe not the gameplay reveal we’re all looking for, but it does confirm one thing: Spawn is going to have his cape....

Nintendo has announced Chill Season 2022 for Splatoon 3, bringing new weapons, maps, and modes to the game. Nintendo previously revealed its plan to update the game every few months, and this is the first major update to Splatoon 3 since its launch on Sep. 8, 2022. The new trailer gives an overview of what players can expect when the Splatoon 3 update lands on Dec. 1, 2022. The trailer not only shows new stages and weapons but announces the addition of new modes known as X Battles and Big Run....

Square Enix has moved to shoot down a rumour that it was being considered for acquisition from several buyers after reports emerged overnight. The original reports came from Bloomberg Japan, who claimed that the Final Fantasy VII Remake and Marvel’s Avengers publisher was being courted by several interested parties and cited “two bank officials familiar with the situation” as their source, although it wasn’t clear if those parties were interested mainly in Square Enix’s games division or the entire company as a whole....

Various Daylife is now available exclusively through Apple Arcade, and is the newest RPG from Square Enix developed by the same team behind both Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default. It features a cartoonish fantasy/medieval setting and art style similar to its predecessors. Strangely (considering how colonialism played out historically), Various Daylife places you in the shoes of a team of colonists tasked with exploring the new continent of Antoecia in the seemingly arbitrarily chosen year of 211....

Today Square Enix had plenty of reveals to share about its upcoming JRPG Star Ocean: The Divine Force. First of all, we get a new trailer, which showcases the game’s extensive cast and a look at the storytelling, on top of revealing the theme song “Pandora” by ultra-popular rock singer HYDE. We also get a video message from HYDE himself, as he explains the connection between the game and the song....
