Nintendo has revealed the next Splatfest theme for Splatoon 3 and it’s Pokémon themed. In a move that is sure to rile up the gaming community, the three options this time are starter Pokémon: are you grass type, fire type, or water type? Last Friday saw the release of one of Nintendo’s biggest fall titles, Splatoon 3. Since launching on the Wii U, the Splatoon franchise has been a massive success for Nintendo, becoming the company’s best-selling new IP to date. The previous game in the franchise, Splatoon 2, sold over 13.30 million copies, double the sales of its predecessor. But, the ink doesn’t stop spraying with Nintendo’s Squid-kids, as the latest game, Splatoon 3, has already broken records for the franchise by becoming the fastest-selling game in the series in Japan alone....

Yoda is a character that is meant to subvert the audience’s expectations. When he was introduced in The Empire Strikes Back, he is meant to trick the audience into thinking he is just a crazy old hermit who wants to hassle Luke. It’s soon revealed that this little puppet is the mysterious Jedi master that Luke was seeking and that the great warrior he was seeking was a three-foot-tall green guy....

Respawn Entertainment has announced that the highly-anticipated gameplay for Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will debuted at EA Play during E3 2019. While no actual date has been announced, the reveal could happen as early as June 7 when the EA Play event begins. Expectations are high for the newest installment in the Star Wars franchise of games. Respawn CEO Vince Zampella stated during the initial announcement that the game would take place in the Dark Times period, which occurs at the close of the Clone Wars as the last Jedi are systematically hunted down....

Since its release in 2016, Stardew Valley has achieved several milestones, not the least of which was the game’s unexpected success right out of the gate. Now, Eric Barone, the creator of the award-winning farming sim, has announced yet another significant moment for the game. On his official Twitter page, Barone aka ConcernedApe, announced that Stardew Valley has officially sold over 10 million copies since its launch in February 2016. To put that number into perspective, Final Fantasy XV, arguably one of the most anticipated role-playing games of this console generation, has sold just over nine million copies since its release in November 2016....

Stardew Valley is a wonderful game filled with hours and hours of entertaining, enjoyable gameplay. It holds a bevy of choices and the freedom to do what the player wants. A defining feature of the Harvest Moon games that Stardew Valley took inspiration from was that the player had a limited amount of time to get their farm up and running. That was the primary challenge associated with those games. It kept the pressure up and kept the player focused....

Psyonix has good news for those of you who are embracing the vehicular sports game’s cross-platform shenanigans. The studio confirmed on Twitter over the weekend that it’s currently working on party support across all supported platforms, and it’ll be with us at some point in 2018. No firm date was given for cross-play party support, although it’s at least good to know the feature is in the pipeline. Right now, it’s not possible to cobble together an entire Rocket League party made up of mixed platform users (that’s PC, Xbox One, and Switch, cause Sony’s currently sitting in the corner with its arms folded refusing to play ball), and it’s only possible to chat with gamers on the same system....

The Advertising Standards Authority (ASA) has investigated complaints regarding adverts that appeared in the free-to-play Scrabble Go app. According to complainants, the ads in question made light of sexual assault, even going so far as to actively encourage it. The first ad to be reported was for a mobile game app from OneSoft Studio named Naughty Puzzle: Tricky Test. It showed an animated woman wearing what appeared to be short shorts and a vest top struggling to free herself from a broken fence....

The news comes after the revelation that FY2018 earnings were well below expectations, but a plan is in place for the coming years. Shadow of the Beast, the re-imagining of the classic Amiga action game, will finally launch for PS4 via PSN on May 17, developer Heavy Spectrum has announced. “We’ve finally reached the point where we have to stop putting things into the game – the last tweaks to combat have been made and the final Easter eggs are hidden for you to find,” explained Matt Birch, CEO and founder, Heavy Spectrum. “So now we are focused solely on fixing bugs and getting Shadow of the Beast ready to appear on PlayStation Store....
