Deep Silver Volition has officially announced Agents of Mayhem, a brand new third-person open-world action IP heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2017. Set in a new “comic hero universe”, Agents of Mayhem puts players in control of an agent recruited to “thwart the destructive schemes of the evil supervillain organization L.E.G.I.O.N”, and is said to feature the developer’s trademark “over-the-top open-world gameplay”. And while it isn’t a new Saints Row game, it is said to be a part of the Saints Row universe, sharing “certain story elements, symbolism, and design inspiration with the multi-million selling franchise”....

Deep Silver and Volition have put out a new trailer for their upcoming Saints Row reboot, offering a first look at gameplay from the criminal action adventure. Hosted by Bryce Charles—who voices the game’s default version of the Boss—we get some insight from the development team on Santo Illeso. Based in the southwestern USA, it’s described as a place surrounded by desert sunsets. The town’s motto is “Keep it Strange” which as the devs note is very fitting for a Saints Row game....

Comedy adventure game CHUCHEL’s latest update brings some minor bug fixes and tweaks that developer Amanita Design says players will hardly notice as they try to solve the game’s challenges and puzzles. However, they also added one not-so-minor tweak that players are sure to notice right away. Amanita Design - the studio behind other titles such as Machinarium and the Samorost series - has officially changed the body color of CHUCHEL’s namesake character from black with an orange head topper, to orange with a black top....

Saturday tickets for this year’s Gamescom have sold out online, the event’s organisers have announced, leaving just day tickets for Thursday August 18, Friday August 19, and Sunday August 21 available to purchase. There will, however, be some Saturday afternoon tickets available on the day, while a limited number of full-day Saturday tickets are still available to purchase in-store at German retailer Saturn. Those, however, are expected to sell out quickly, the organisers warn....

Rebellion has officially announced Sniper Elite 4, the next game in its hit shooter series heading to PS4, Xbox One and PC in 2016. Set immediately after Sniper Elite 3, the new game sends marksman Karl Fairburne to the forests, mountains and coastal towns of 1943 Italy, where he must fight alongside the Italian Resistance to help free their country “and defeat a terrifying new threat”. Alongside the campaign, the game will feature dedicated co-op and competitive multiplayer modes, and will be developed and published by Rebellion, dropping Sniper Elite 2 and 3’s publisher 505 Games....

Some very interesting news popped recently up that should pique the interest of Sonic fans everywhere. As reported by @Renka_schedule on Twitter, Sega recently filed a public trademark for the name Sonic Frontiers. This lends credence to some news from earlier this year on what form the next modern Sonic game might take. In May, Sega had the Sonic Central stream, which went over all news related to the blue blur....

Today, during Sony’s quarterly conference call for investors and analysts, chief financial officer Hiroki Totoki was asked to comment on Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, VR, and more. Totoki-san mentioned that it’s difficult for Sony to say anything about the deal between Microsoft and Activision Blizzard. He added that the acquisition isn’t completed yet and Sony doesn’t have a clear picture of what kind of business model changes will happen. Due to that, they don’t want to speculate....
