Signal Studios has announced that it has to delay Toy Soldiers HD. As revealed on the developer’s official Twitter page, the remaster of the 2010 Xbox Live classic is being pushed back. The lead claimant of the recently filed anti-competition lawsuit against Sony hosted an Ask Me Anything Q&A on reddit yesterday. A couple of weeks ago it emerged that the case had been filed with the Competition Appeal Tribunal, alleging that Sony abuses its position in the market to unfairly charge customers. Marvel’s Spider-Man has turned out to be a massive hit, both critically and in profits. On Metacritic, Insomniac’s title has achieved a score of 87, making it the highest-rated Spider-Man game on the aggregator site alongside the PS1 classic Spider-Man title. Over on the money-making side, the game has set a new record for Sony’s PlayStation 4. USA Today reports that Marvel’s Spider-Man had sold 3.3 million copies during its first three days of release....

Square Enix has cancelled the four Starwing Paradox tournaments scheduled this weekend, as several death threats were made against the arcade game’s management team (via Kotaku). In an official statement, Square Enix stated that the threats have been reported and the incident is currently being dealt with by the police. The tournaments in Tokyo, Yokohama, Nagoya, and Fukuoka were cancelled as a safety measure, and the publisher apologised to fans who were looking forward to the events....

Google Stadia, the tech giants highly-anticipated game streaming service, launched today for Premiere Edition early adopters, and reviews for the service thus far seem to be mixed. While most are praising Google’s innovative play-it-your-way approach to gaming, others have voiced serious concerns regarding performance, even with higher-end setups and broadband connections. Yet, while we’ve yet to see if Stadia can truly live up to the hype on the end user’s side of things, game developers seem to already be sold on the project....

Those who pre-ordered Stalker 2 are seeing their purchases refunded. A report from XGP (via VGC), reveals that those who had pre-ordered the game have been receiving messages informing them that their orders have now been cancelled. The message goes on to state this is due to the fact that Stalker 2’s release date has been pushed back to an “unconfirmed date in the future”. Meanwhile, the pre-order option on the Xbox store appears to have been disabled....

Star Trek: Resurgence, the new narrative adventure from developer Dramatic Labs, will no longer release this year as originally planned and is now expected to arrive on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation in April 2023. Resurgence, which was announced at last year’s Game Awards, takes place after the events of Star Trek: The Next Generation, telling its story from the alternating perspectives of two different characters - First Officer Jara Rydek and Engineering Crewperson Carter Diaz - with gameplay said to consist of playable cinematic sequences....

Star Wars Battlefront’s Death Star expansion pack will release in September, DICE has announced. The DLC will include new maps set both on the ground and “in space”, along with new weapons, Star Cards and two new heroes. One of them, DICE says, is a “larger-than-life character we know you’ve been patiently waiting for”. A “sneak peek” at the expansion will be revealed at 7pm BST on Saturday, during a livestream being held at this weekend’s Star Wars Celebration....

When the first Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order gameplay footage was shown at E3 2019, it teased an interesting blend of force-power skills and perfectly timed lightsaber swipes. Upon the reveal of Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, reactions were mixed. On the one hand, it was a new, single-player adventure in the Star Wars universe from Respawn Entertainment. Sony Bend Director and Writer John Garvin has said that story will be a ‘huge part’ of Days Gone. the upcoming PS4 exclusive zombie action game. In an interview with Official PlayStation Magazine (via WCCFTech), Garvin said, ‘I’m the writer, and the director, and I’ve written all the games for SIE Bend, and they are all narrative, story-driven games. So this is a huge part of the game. We’re just not talking about it yet....
