Fans of EA skateboarding sim series Skate have begged and pleaded with the publisher to make Skate 4. It’s been a long nine years since the last Skate game was released and fans would very much like its brand of analogue-stick-flipping skate gameplay to comeback. EA has denied rumors that it is developing Skate 4, dashing fan hopes. However, that hasn’t stopped fans from hoping Skate 4 will happen and it hasn’t stopped us from putting together a wishlist of things we’d like to see from the game....

If you’ve been waiting for the next skater game to appear, then Session is your answer. It’s been a long time since the golden age of skating games, popularized by Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. The series peaked with Tony Hawk’s Underground in 2004 but then went on a long and slow slide into obscurity. Eventually, the series got shelved when Activision just couldn’t be bothered to make a decent game anymore....

As the Spintires series has shown, some people like games where you get stuck in the mud and have to carefully navigate treacherous areas in huge trucks or risk giant problems. The first several hours I played SnowRunner, I was not one of those people. But after getting accustomed to the game and figuring out how everything worked, I too started to enjoy the thrill of driving very slowly while navigating natural hazards....

Overwatch 2 is pushing the gas on news after an extended period of silence and lack of information. We got some background information on Sojourn just the other day, previewing her origins and giving us a glimpse at the identity of Vivian Chase. Now, we have a full gameplay trailer for Sojourn, which shows off her combat abilities in Overwatch 2. She slips and slides while shooting her cybernetic gun in the trailer, and it’s a sign that Overwatch is truly coming back....

Sonic the Hedgehog, veteran of countless video games, animated series, and a long-running comic book series from Archie Comics is coming to the big screen. Deadpool director Tim Miller serves as executive producer on the film along with Hajime Satomi, Haruki Satomi, Masanao Maeda, Toby Ascher, Nan Morales. Jeff Fowler will direct. Neal H. Moritz of the Fast & Furious movies is producing with Toby Ascher. Dmitri Johnson and Dan Jevons are co-producers....

When the first trailer for the upcoming Sonic The Hedgehog movie was released by Paramount, fan reaction to the character design of the main hog himself was overwhelmingly negative: with an uncanny valley-esque facial structure and humanoid eyes, Sonic was a far departure from his iconic design and was, simply, off-putting to consumers. The immense backlash eventually prompted director Jeff Fowler to redesign the animated character entirely, with the movie being delayed until February as a result....

Sony has announced the free PlayStation 4 games that will be given away as part of PlayStation Plus for November 2018, and they’re a pair of absolute gems. Subscribers to the company’s online service will be able to download Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Yakuza Kiwami without spending a penny. And yes, the news arrives slightly earlier than usual; Sony usually announces PS Plus games at the end of the month....

Sony has celebrated tomorrow’s launch of Tearaway Unfolded by recreating the London skyline in papercraft. The structure was built by artist Andrew Singleton using discarded copies of the Evening Standard, which he used to create papercraft versions of the London Eye, The Shard, London Bridge, the Oxo Tower and other iconic landmarks. You can check out the process in the video above. Pretty clever, huh? Tearaway Unfolded arrives on PS4 tomorrow, Friday 11, and sees players sent on an adventure through a papercraft world to deliver a message to the real world....

Andrew House, president of Sony Interactive Entertainment, is stepping down from his role. House, known for overseeing the very successful launch of the PlayStation 4, joined Sony in 1995 and helped launch the original PlayStation. He’ll be moving to becoming the director and chairman of SIE. House’s role as SIE president will be filled by John Kodera, the current deputy president, but House is staying on through the end of the year to ensure ‘a smooth transition’....

Every demo shown during Sony’s E3 press conference was running on a standard PS4, not the more powerful PlayStation 4 Neo, Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed. The platform holder revealed the first demos of God of War, Spider-Man, Days Gone, Death Stranding and more during its conference, along with new looks at Horizon: Zero Dawn and Detroit: Beyond Human. However, it also confirmed that a more powerful PS4 – the PlayStation 4 Neo – was in development in the days prior, leading to some questions over whether the games were running on the upgraded hardware....

Guerrilla Cambridge, developer of PS VR launch title RIGS, is to be closed, Sony has confirmed to GamesIndustry. “Whilst we accept that this decision will mean that we risk losing high calibre staff, by focusing on other Studios with exciting new projects in development, (including continued work on PlayStation VR), we believe we will be in a stronger position going forward and able to offer the best possible content of the highest quality to our players,” commented Sony....

THQ Nordic has dropped a new trailer for SpongeBob SquarePants: The Cosmic Shake, the new adventure starring the cartoon favourite. The new trailer came during the THQ Digital Showcase Event on Friday night, and showcases some of the many worlds SpongeBob and Patrick will be jumping between during the game. Interestingly enough, THQ didn’t reveal anything about a new release date just yet. However, we did get a look at a cowboy themed world, a caveman themed level and plenty more....

The reveal of a brand new Star Wars game, Star Wars: Project Maverick, has leaked online, though details are scarce. The leak comes courtesy of the PlayStation Network, but it was first made known by a Twitter bot. The bot, @psnrelease, tweets out all new games added to the PlayStation Network. According to the bot, the game was simply added with the name Maverick, but the artwork that was paired with the game clearly reads Star Wars: Project Maverick....

Electronic Arts has canceled another Star Wars game, this time an open-world title in development at EA Vancouver, according to Kotaku. Codenamed Orca, the game was still in the early phases of development. The outlet reports that EA decided to cancel the project because the publisher feared the game would not be ready for a 2020 release date. EA Vancouver will instead begin work on another, “smaller-scale” Star Wars game....

This Star Wars Resistance review contains spoilers. Star Wars Resistance Season 2 Episode 9 “The Voxx Vortex 5000” definitely seems it was meant to be normal, regular season idea that had to be retro-fitted for this final season. Even the title seems like it’s meant to be some kind of epic racing adventure instead of the desperate, little-watched race it ends up being. It kind of feels like an episode that is meant to, in the broadest ways possible, explore the Aces in a bit more detail on the individual level....

First revealed in July of this year, Steam Labs is one of Valve’s ongoing experiments. Instead of testing new features behind closed doors, Steam Labs allows the community to participate in and comment on potential new additions to the storefront. The Steam Labs page has a variety of community discussion boards. Therefore, all public testing is open for feedback. It seems that Valve wants to hear what people think about potential changes to Steam’s features....

Some Gears of War: Ultimate Edition players may need to wait until the end of the year to receive their free copies of Gears of War 1, 2, 3 and Judgment, The Coalition has said. Even though codes started being issued last month, they are only being sent out to select groups of players at a time, with new waves expected each week throughout December. The next wave will be going out this Thursday, December 10, although it isn’t clear how many people will receive their codes each week....

Stray is a game all about reuniting a lost cat with its family. This game takes you all over a cybercity with tons of cool bots. Here, you go through alleys, buildings, and more with your trusty B-12 bot by your side. As you play the game, you will come across certain errors at some point or another. Some prevent you from starting the game at all. One of these is the UE4-HK Project Game Has Crashed error on Stray....

Successful Street Fighter 5 beta candidates will receive their beta key tomorrow at around 3pm BST, Sony Computer Entertainment Europe community manager Chris Owen has confirmed on Twitter. “SCEE Street Fighter V Beta invites will be going out to successful candidates at 3pm BST Tomorrow!” he tweeted. PS4 gamers were given the chance to sign up to take part in the beta earlier this month, but if you haven’t already done so you’re out of luck: Entry closed on July 15....
