This stemmed from the latest beta for Steam, which “changes how the client connects to its content delivery network, removing the access customers had to previous versions of their games.” Certain players have valid reasons to access older versions of games, so many became understandably concerned over what the changes in the latest beta might entail for this feature....

Harmonix has launched a fig crowd funding campaign to bring Rock Band 4 and a new Rock Band Network to PC. The independent studio is asking for $1.5 million and will put in half a million itself. “We’re super excited that the PC version will allow us to bring user-generated content to Rock Band!” explains the campaign. “For those of you who don’t recall, Rock Band Network was a set of tools that allowed you to take your own song audio, add MIDI information, and create song files playable by Rock Band 3, plus server infrastructure to upload those songs to Xbox Live and sell them in Rock Band 3....

Cellar Door Games has announced that its charming rogue-lite sequel Rogue Legacy 2 will launch in full on Xbox and PC on April 28. The game originally arrived in early access form on PC back in 2020. In case you’re not familiar, the game is something of a Metroidvania with rogue-lite elements. The twist is that every character you play as has certain traits, and these traits offer specific buffs or nerfs to a run....

Adding Wyatt Long to the mystery keeps things helpfully tight for this already-large ensemble cast. His role attacking Liz and killing Green solidifies that all the town bigots also hate aliens and go to disturbing lengths to carry out their mission, cementing the parallels between aliens and marginalized humans....

With the PS5 reveal event rumored to be taking place in February, rumors about PlayStation’s future are everywhere. Publisher Microids has announced its physical version of Sifu, now subtitled the Vengeance Edition, will launch on May 3. Rewards for players who decide to grab the Vengeance Edition come in the form of some extra goodies. Veteran artists, designers, and programmers formerly of Lab Zero Games have banded together to form a new studio that goes by the name Future Club. The creation of the new studio comes on the back of allegations of sexual misconduct at Lab Zero Games that resulted in multiple employees resigning in protest and, eventually, the whole studio being laid off. Future Club clearly wants to put the past behind it and get back to creating games like the smash-hit Skullgirls and Indivisible....

We all knew it was happening, but this is the first time it’s been made official: Sony will be announcing a new PS4 console later this week, PlayStation Korea has confirmed. The console will (according to Korean Twitter user @ChoiKangho) be priced and dated in Hong Kong on September 8, shortly after PlayStation Meeting comes to a close in New York on September 7. At the New York event, which kicks off on Wednesday at 8pm BST, Sony is expected to announce two new consoles: the PS4 Slim and PS4 Neo....
