One of the surprise breakout hits of the year, Sorry To Bother You is a biting satire of modern corporate culture, class systems and race in a year when such topics are part of everyday conversation. However, the fact that the film was written – and published as a book – years ago makes its insights into modern life feel even more prescient. Given the film’s fiercely original proposition, it’s hard to imagine there was no pushback from interested movie studios when writer/director Boots Riley was pitching his vision back in 2014....

Activision released a behind-the-scenes trailer for the upcoming Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions featuring commentary from the narrator of the game, better known as the creator of Spider-Man himself - Stan Lee. The behind-the-scenes clip shows Stan laying down some voice work, as well as sharing his positive opinions of the game and how he feels about playing as four different Spidey characters in one game. Also, weaved within the trailer is a mixed bag of some pretty cool gameplay footage....

When Marvel announced that Insomniac games would have the opportunity to take the reigns of its very own Spider-Man property, fans were, needless to say, excited. And when Insomniac released its take on everyone’s favorite web-slinging hero, the rave reviews flooded in with praise for the game’s beautifully modeled version of Manhattan, the perfect mechanics driving the web-slingers traversal of the cityscape, and the wonderfully scripted sequence of events that takes place of the course of the game....

PlayStation Underground has offered a fresh look at the upcoming Spyro Reignited Trilogy in a new gameplay video. This latest footage of the pint-sized fire breather’s remastered bundle looks at Spyro 2, specifically the stage Idol Springs. It looks, well, just what you’d expect from Spyro 2, only a lot prettier than it was back in the late 90s. We see the purple protagonist having a natter with the locals, taking a plunge in a nearby pool, solving puzzles, and generally soaking in the beautifully spruced up visuals....

The original purple burninator may find his way onto PC, if a Taiwanese ratings board is correct. The Spyro Reignited Trilogy popped up on said board, and a screen shot was quickly posted by Twitter, causing fans to wonder if the famous dragon could soon be flying our way. For those wondering, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy brought three of Spyro’s games to modern machines. The games were remade from the ground up, with new visuals layered on top of the classic gameplay....

Rocket League is going to be free-to-play in summer, announced Psyonix. Citing a desire to “refine” and “revamp” features like the menus, Tournaments, Challenges, and crossplatform coherency, Psyonix is ready to bring Rocket League to even more people through its free-to-play plans. “Rocket League action on the field will still be the same core, high-octane hybrid of sports and action you love today, and soon, even more players will share that love,” explained the developer....

According to an ex-Rockstar developer, the studio has multiple games in development right now. The news that the Grand Theft Auto and Red Dead Redemption developer is working on at least two new games comes from former Rockstar India employee Angith Jayarajan. Last year, Rockstar released Red Dead Redemption 2 to much critical acclaim and have continued to support both its online projects, Grand Theft Auto Online and Red Dead Online....

Ron Gilbert and Dave Grossman worked on both The Secret of Monkey Island and Monkey Island 2: LeChuck’s Revenge all the way back in the early 90’s. Now, the duo are returning to the series in the aptly named Return to Monkey Island and in the run up to its release have revealed the one puzzle they regret from their original time working on the series. Chatting to GamesBeat, Gilbert and Grossman revealed the Monkey Wrench puzzle from LeChuck’s Revenge, which saw Guybrush Threepwood using an actual monkey to activate a seemingly broken pump, was a mistake, calling it “notoriously unsolvable” and “not a good design on several levels”....

Following yesterday’s Reddit topping news, RuneScape developer Jagex has partially backpedaled on its initial statement. As posted on the Old School RuneScape Twitter, the RuneLite HD client is likely going to be allowed in some form. The exact details are currently unknown as discussions with the RuneLite HD developer 117Scape are still ongoing. According to the post, Jagex is investigating the possibility of allowing RuneLite HD to be used “as a bridge,” until the official in-house HD client is finished....

SnowRunner, the positively received off-road driving game developed by Saber Interactive, has finally reached the second half of its Year 2 Pass. SnowRunner players can now try out Season 7, which goes by the name “Compete & Conquer,” starting today. Much like SnowRunner‘s previous seasons, Compete & Conquer provides players with a new map to explore, this time taking place in Burning Mill, Tennessee, as well as two new vehicles in the form of the Gor BY-4 and the Sprinter 43-19....

Following the release of the game’s end theme performed by ONE OK ROCK earlier this week, Sega has revealed yet another track that will be featured on Sonic Frontier’s OST. This time around Sega didn’t specify where in the game you’ll be able to hear this song. The title of the track is I’m Here and it features vocals and lyrics by Merry Kirk-Holmes from the metal band To Octavia. Like you would expect from any typical metal track, there are plenty of heavy guitar riffs and driving drums to match the high-octane action in Sonic Frontiers....

Hot off the heels of last year’s Shovel Knight Pocket Dungeon, developer Yacht Club is back again to collaborate with another dev for another rogue-lite release. Shovel Knight Dig doesn’t have the amount of run variation that the previous puzzler had, but there are a ton of level chunks, considering the length of the game. If you just want to see the ending, the developers made it surprisingly easy to blow through the game, even without utilizing the included accessibility features....
