Square Enix has polished off a new trailer for Shadow of the Tomb Raider, giving us a look at the game’s upcoming DLC, The Forge. For those out of the loop, The Forge offers up a new Challenge Tomb set within a deadly lava-flooded location, although unlike those found in the campaign, this one offers both solo and cooperative play. Aside from tackling a new tomb, players will also be able to enjoy the new Score Attack and Time Attack modes, as well as get their hands on the Brocken outfit, Umbrage 3-80 weapon, and Grenadier skill....

Upcoming kung fu brawler Sifu won’t have difficulty settings, but will be beatable in one run without aging. That’s according to the game’s producer Pierre Tarno. He was speaking in an interview with MP1st. “We want Sifu to challenge players and to encourage them to learn, improve and adapt. The ability to rise up from death will help new players by allowing them to fail and try again multiple times when they face difficulty....

The Sinking City has received its first proper gameplay video courtesy of developer Frogwares, which offers a look at one of the creepy Lovecraftian horror title’s side quests. Most of the footage we’ve seen of the detective-’em-up has been cinematic trailers, so this gives us a proper idea of how the game actually plays. There’s definitely an air of mystery about the proceedings, as protagonist Charles W. Reed explores the water-logged town of Oakmond, Massachusetts, solving various conundrums....

The Sims 4 team recently announced the launch of a new community-focused Stuff Pack. This is due to be the second such pack in the franchise. The first was Laundry Day Stuff, which was produced based on the result of votes put together by SimGuruGraham back in 2018. This time around the voting system has been revamped and the community was asked to cast their votes for their favorite theme. This initial vote has now closed and the winner of this first round was Arts & Crafts, with Happy Haunts coming in second....

Almost exactly one year after Sonic Frontiers’ initial tease, Sega has returned with a new brand-new trailer offering our first, brief look at some gameplay for the hedgehog’s latest adventure. Sonic Frontiers was first teased at the end of last May (with only the vaguest of CGI trailers and no name), but it wasn’t until December that first proper details emerged, with Sega describing the title as Sonic’s “first ever open zone” game....

Sega has revealed the required specifications for Sonic Frontiers. The next installment in Sega’s signature platforming franchise releases on November 8, and there have been some concerns over how demanding it would be to run. Especially with a recent trailer showing off some impressive visuals. However, it turns out that the PC requirements for Sonic Frontiers aren’t too demanding. The recommended specs are a Ryzen 5 2600 or Intel equivalent, 12 GB RAM, Nvidia GeForce GTX 1070 or equivalent, and 30 GB of available storage space....

Days Gone developer Sony Bend has revealed in a new job listing that it’s working on a new triple-A project. It’s way too early for any significant details at this point, although with Days Gone not out until February we can assume the studio is going to be juggling two major games at this point. One interesting tidbit is that colour will apparently be a vital factor in the game, though....

Sony has dominated this entire console generation with a stellar line up of exclusive games, helping them secure the PS4 as the best-selling console of this generation. This is thanks to a healthy roster of Sony-owned studios working diligently to produce incredible titles. Now, Sony has added another studio to their fold, Insomniac Games. Sony Interactive Entertainment has confirmed that it is opening the gates to PlayStation 4 cross-play for ‘select third-party content.’ The format holder isn’t wasting anytime either, as a Fortnite beta is rolling out right now allowing PS4 gamers to square off against PC, Switch, and Xbox One players. Well, it took them long enough, right? Sony’s taken a ton of flak from gamers on their reluctance to incorporate cross-play, a feature that has been available on competing formats for a while now....

Sony’s already confirmed that it’ll be offering ‘deep dives’ for the likes of The Last of Us: Part 2 and Spider-Man at E3, but it’s now revealed there will be some pre-show shenanigans ahead of the main event. By pre-show, we mean this week. Wednesday, to be precise, when the format holder will announce a new PlayStation 4 game featuring PSVR support. This will be followed by a release date announcement on Thursday for a mystery Sony Worldwide Studios title....

Atlus just released a new trailer of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2. The trailer has one of the protagonists, Ringo, introducing one of the series’ most iconic demons, Jack Frost. Interestingly, the trailer is identified by the date, and Ringo says “see you tomorrow” so we’re possibly looking at another massive series of daily trailers similar to Shin Megami Tensei V. Developer Red Blue Games has released Sparklite, its first major title after four years of development. The game offers a top-down action-adventure set in a procedurally generated world known as Geodia. Borrowing thematically from classic The Legend of Zelda titles in look and feel, players will find Sparklite to be enjoyable and accessible for all levels of skill. Shinra, Is That You? Sparklite, from which the game takes its name, is what ties the world of Geodia together....

Update: The Splatoon Global Testfire is back for an encore on Saturday May 24 at 11pm BST, Nintendo has announced. The demo will be live for one hour allowing you to enjoy 4-on-4 online Turf War battles using the same weapons as the previous Global Testfire event. Maxime Beland, the creative director of Splinter Cell: Conviction and Splinter Cell: Blacklist, has returned to Ubisoft. Reports indicate that Beland has returned to Ubisoft as a member of a creative team within the studio that will seemingly preside over the creative process of all upcoming games. It’s not clear at this time what the extent of their reach is, but it certainly sounds like future Ubisoft titles will have to get at least some kind of approval from them....
