If you’ve been struggling to download Sifu on PS5 this afternoon, you’re not alone. Sloclap has confirmed that unspecified “issues” are preventing some from downloading the Early Access version of the fighting game. “We are aware that there are issues preventing the download of Sifu through the early access on the PlayStation Store, and are very sorry for the inconvenience,” the development team explained via a tweet posted to the game’s official Twitter account earlier today....

Mossmouth’s vibrant treasure-seeking adventurer Spelunky 2 has received a dazzling gameplay trailer for you to feast your eyes on. The Derek Yu-masterminded sequel was originally announced at Sony’s 2017 Paris Games Week livestream, where it was confirmed for release on PlayStation 4 and PC. Not much has been heard on the game since, so this gameplay trailer should tide you over for now. Spider-Man Remastered is coming to PC on 12th August. Announced at the PlayStation State of Play, Insomniac’s superhero adventure was previously available as a console exclusive but will come to PC for the first time. It’s unknown if the Miles Morales follow-up will also be available in the future. [UPDATE: The PlayStation blog has now confirmed it will, this autumn.] Spider-Man Remastered follows the likes of God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, and Days Gone as PlayStation Studio games coming to PC....

Splatoon managed to sell more copies than Nintendo had anticipated, CEO Saturo Iwata has revealed. The game, which launched exclusively on Wii U at the end of May, sold through 1 million units within its first month of launch, and has continued to sell well in the UK ever since, only slipping outside the top 10 for the first time this week. “Having received high recognition from our consumers for its novelty, this title’s sell-through sales reached 1 million units in less than a month from its release,” Iwata told shareholders at Nintendo’s latest Annual General Meeting....

There is clearly a hunger among Star Wars fans gaming experiences that can offer epic modern visuals, as Star Wars: Dark Forces becomes the latest game from the LucasArts back-catalog to get a fan-made remake in Unreal Engine 4. EA’s handling of the Star Wars license has resulted in only two AAA titles: Battlefront and its much-maligned sequel. Although Respawn’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is still on the way, the amount of canceled Star Wars games (and the lack of single-player Star Wars titles) seems to have inspired fans to make their own fun....

This past week saw two of 2019’s biggest and most anticipated releases in gaming the forms of EA’s Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order and Pokémon Sword & Shield. The two were both bound to be great sellers and reported sales figures from the UK prove their dominance in the market there. According to TechRaptor, Pokémon Sword had been the highest-selling game for the week ending November 16th. Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order came in just behind Sword, while Pokémon Shield ended up being the third best-selling game for the week of November 16th....

Today developer Spiders and publisher Nacon released a new trailer of the upcoming steampunk action-RPG Steelrising. The trailer focuses on the story of the game, providing us with a glimpse of what we can expect in terms of narration from this alternate-history adventure in a much different French revolution. Steelrising is the new ARPG from the developer of GreedFall, and the player must battle an army of automatas which have gone rogue in the French Revolution. Steelrising is in development for PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. In this alternate history, King Louis XVI is a power-hungry plotter and built this army of automatas to ensure the country bends to his will. Aegis, another automaton and bodyguard of Queen Marie Antoinette, is given orders to seek and destroy the despot and his deranged forces, and the player will explore sites like the Grand Châtelet and the Square du Temple in Paris....

Ubisoft has announced that it has shelved the planned Nintendo Switch version of Steep. The publishing giant confirmed the news on Twitter in response to a fan asking how the game was coming along for the Big N’s hybrid powerhouse. Ubisoft explained it’s instead decided to focus on supporting the existing versions of the game rather than continue to develop the Switch version. Steep was released on PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One in December 2016....

A new anime series based upon Scott Pilgrim is coming to Netflix. According to Hollywood Reporter, Netflix is working alongside UCP - the division of Universal Studio Group behind The Umbrella Academy and Chucky - to develop the brand-new adaptation with anime house Science SARU “on tap to provide the animation work”. Scott Pilgrim’s artist/creator Bryan Lee O’Malley is writing and executive producing the show with BenDavid Grabinski, and both are also on board as showrunners should the series “move forward”....
