Routine, now that’s a game we haven’t heard in a long time. Announced way back in 2013, Routine was hit by delays, pushing it out of its initial 2017 release window. Rumors of cancellation swirled, and eventually many forgot the game existed. But developer Lunar Software and publisher Raw Fury weren’t ready to let it die so easily. Routine was re-revealed (like with Witchfire, apparently) today during Summer Game Fest 2022 with a new, creepy trailer....

The Kinect has been a runaway success for the boys at Microsoft, and after phenomenal sales numbers during the holidays Microsoft should be aiming to keep the hardware moving. It looks like they plan to do just that, but in a way that is sure to excite core gamers, and introduce casual gamers to one of Microsoft’s largest franchises ever. It seems that the kind people at Microsoft purchased a URL that hints at a potential combination between two of their most successful products thus far: Halo and Kinect....

The most recent installment of the LittleBigPlanet franchise, Sackboy: A Big Adventure, might arrive on PC in the future. First spotted by VGC, A recent SteamDB Login had its database listing a client icon (under additional information) with the game’s box art. The listing later added language support for the title, which is generally the last addition added before a game gets released. It seems that the rigors of working on Super Smash Bros. Ultimate are such that Masahiro Sakurai couldn’t even take the time out to see if it had won any awards during The Game Awards. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate was released in December 2018, but it was still nominated in four different categories in the 2019 Game Awards, including Best Family Game, Best Fighting Game, Player’s Voice, and Game of the Year....

Saturday Night Live has released a sketch poking fun at the eSports scene, specifically using League of Legends to highlight how strange the events are from an outsider’s perspective. The League of Legends sketch is actually pretty funny, and worth a watch for those looking to have a laugh at the eSport industry’s expense. The sketch features Chance The Rapper as Lazlo Holmes, a Knick’s correspondent filling in for Jake Sussman - the usual reporter that is currently out to take the PSAT....

The new Resident Evil game, formerly speculated to be an RE3 remake or RE8, appears to be neither of those things. Earlier today, news broke that the title will be called Project Resistance, and a teaser trailer will be dropped on September 9 at 11 a.m. Eastern. While the developer hasn’t officially revealed anything, leaked screenshots suggest it will be a spiritual successor to Resident Evil: Outbreak. It’s not certain if the game will include co-op or not, but it seems likely judging from the screenshots....

Rare is celebrating the third anniversary of the release of nautical pirate adventure Sea of Thieves with a bunch of freebies and thanking its playerbase as it announces a whopping 20 million players having taken to the seas since March 2018. The festivities (via Xbox Wire) include an anniversary gift of a set of Prosperous Captain’s Sails for anyone who logs into the game between now and March 25, with Xbox Game Pass members also getting a free Jump for Joy emote if they log in before March 21....

Exactly how Shenmue 3 is being funded has been one of the major talking points since the game’s Kickstarter was announced during Sony’s E3 press conference. Of particular interest to gamers is why fans should offer their money when the game has the backing of Sony? Ys Net founder and Shenmue creator Yu Suzuki has issued a statement in an effort to clarify the situation. “There have been many questions concerning Shenmue 3’s budget and what outside sources will be added to the money collected through Kickstarter....

Developer Sloclap has confirmed that its acclaimed martial arts action game Sifu will be getting Cantonese voice over added in its next update. Back in December, the developer announced the game would be getting a new Arenas mode, which would be included with the Steam and Xbox console versions releasing in March 2023, as well as a free update for PC via the Epic Games Store, PlayStation at the same time....

Codemasters will once again be turning to the community to help fine tune its next Formula One video game, with testing for the new game starting earlier than last year. “The development team have been hard at work on the next project for some time now, and we can’t wait to share some of the fantastic new game additions with you,” wrote Codemasters. The dread undead pirate Cervantes is coming to Soulcalibur VI…Bandai Namco just doesn’t want us to know that yet. The company’s official Twitter dropped the news yesterday only to pull it soon after. No reason was given, but it seems that the announcement was made prematurely. But fans being fans, the video has already been preserved and is making the rounds, whether Bandai Namco likes it or not. It’s a tricky state the current Star Wars franchise is in. Star Wars Battlefront 2’s credit system prompted some inventive gamers to come up with contraptions to farm credits and not even play. The most common method being a couple of rubber bands slung around the controller after entering a multiplayer match. Movement is then registered by the game to make it look like the player is not AFK. This little practical “hack” has caused problems in games. As so many players have been trying it, games can get filled with AFK players which is not much fun for those trying to play the game seriously....
