Fallout 3 Game of the Year Edition and Doom 3: BFG Edition, two Xbox 360 titles which play on Xbox One via backwards compatibility, have been spotted at a US retailer in new Xbox One packaging. The new box features Xbox One and Xbox 360 logos across the top, plus the message that the game “plays on Xbox One and Xbox 360”. Furthermore, the old Xbox 360 box is still being offered, only now also features a “Plays on Xbox One” label....
Fans of Sonic the Hedgehog and Genshin Impact are fighting over various claims of foul play in relation to this year’s Players’ Voice fan vote at tomorrow’s Game Awards. The Players’ Voice category is a 100 percent fan-voted award which this year has five possible choices as its finalists: Elden Ring, Genshin Impact, Stray, God of War Ragnarok and Sonic Frontiers. Sony’s current Call of Duty marketing deal “restricts” Activision’s big-budget shooter series from appearing in Xbox Game Pass, Microsoft has claimed. The detail comes from Xbox’s full response to last week’s filing by the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority, in which the regulator raised its current concerns regarding Microsoft’s ongoing $68bn takeover attempt of Activision Blizzard. Sony’s existing marketing deal with Call of Duty sees the PlayStation branding used in conjunction with advertising, while players on Sony platforms get early access to in-game content....
Today Atlus released another of its daily trailers of the upcoming JRPG Soul Hackers 2, showing another demon included in the game. As the current executive producer of all future Star Trek TV projects, Alex Kurtzman had to have some kind of a plan. And, in a long, revealing interview this week with Deadline, Kurtzman made it clear that before Star Trek: Discovery even launched in 2017, he knew the future of Trek needed to be planned out with some patience. From seemingly nowhere, developer The Aristocrats has announced that Starship Troopers - Terran Command will be coming to PC next year. Published by Slitherine Ltd., this new title will be an RTS take on the cult-classic film from 1997. It will see players controlling the titular soldiers as they attempt to push back the invading alien bugs from their home planet. Plenty of games offer local multiplayer options, but some of them lack the ability to play online with friends. A new feature coming from Steam is looking to amend that for PC gamers. Steam is introducing a new feature called ‘Remote Play Together’ that will let players enjoy local co-op and multiplayer games online. The program is entering its beta phase on October 21st. The new program was revealed to a select number of Steam users, including the developer of Hidden in Plain Sight, Adam Spragg....

Rocket League’s newest promotional game partner is SSC Software’s Euro Truck Simulator 2, with items from either game making an appearance in the other. Later this month Euro Truck Simulator 2 players will be able to access the Rocket League ball to hang from the window of their truck, and the Octane car to sit on the dashboard. The recent Cabin toy physics update for Cabin DLC is also being enabled in the base game for this DLC....

I was highly curious to see what Omega Force would do after the missteps of Dynasty Warriors 9. Samurai Warriors 4 has been one of my favorite games in the series since it came out seven years ago, and I was hoping that the developer would take some lessons from past mistakes and, at the very least, do what it did with SW4 again.
