The developers from EA DICE have lifted the lid on their next big update for Star Wars Battlefront 2, revealing heaps of tie-in content that will link up with the cinematic release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. As the Sequel Trilogy segment of the Skywalker saga comes to an end on the big screen, players will be able to immerse themselves in the movie’s galaxy through a slew of interactive experiences in Star Wars Battlefront 2....

The new Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order releases today and people are already calling out sick to soak up all the countless hours of content. A couple of days ago, the Microsoft Store unveiled its console bundle for the upcoming game, Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, which NPD predicts will be one of the best selling games of 2019. The special bundle comes in two variants: one for the Xbox One X, and another for the Xbox One S. The Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order Xbox One bundle is available to pre-order now and includes the two Knights of the Old Republic games for free....

Street Fighter 5 on PS4 and PC will benefit from the franchise’s largest ever online beta program, Capcom has announced. Capcom says the tests will be “essential to collect your feedback and to ensure that Street Fighter 5 is the best iteration yet”. Access to the beta in North America will be granted to those who pre-order, but we’re yet to hear details of beta enrolment in other territories. More details, including timing on the beta program, will be revealed in the future....
Psyonix has announced some more information on the transition of Rocket League to free-to-play later this year, revealing that a PlayStation Plus or Nintendo Switch Online subscription will no longer be required to play the game online with friends on PS4 and Nintendo Switch, respectively. Revealing the news in a post on the game’s official blog, Psyonix also mentions how seasons will be streamlined come the update, with the Rocket Pass, Competitive Seasons and Competitive Tournaments all essentially resetting to a new “Season One” state with the Rocket Pass now following the numerical structure of the season it’s released with to make it easier to track....
A few weeks ago, developer Jagex released the first new grandmaster difficulty quest into RuneScape in over five years, called Extinction. The quest itself was well-received, but many players didn’t feel as though the rewards were good enough. Well, today’s update for RuneScape greatly buffs the rewards given for completing Extinction. Both the Pontifex Shadow Ring and Ring of Vigour can now gain additional benefits once the quest is finished. The Pontifex Shadow Ring can be imbued, which increases the drop chance for all Elder God Wars bosses....
Samurai Showdown director Nobuyuki Kuroki says it was a challenge getting the game to run at 60 frames per second on the Nintendo Switch. The SNK title became a fan favorite after its first release in 1993 and a reboot dropped for PlayStation 4, Google Stadia, Xbox One, PC and Arcade last year. The game launched for PS4 and Xbox One in June on a worldwide scale but it didn’t come to Nintendo until December and is still only available in Japan therein....

Rare has promised fans of its pirate game Sea of Thieves that 2022 will be the game’s biggest yet, and will be holding a Preview Event this Thursday. The broadcast on the Sea of Thieves YouTube channel promises a look at the game’s next season and beyond. Proceedings will kick off at 6pm UK time, and a trailer gives us a brief glimpse at what’s to come. Acclaimed Metroidvania title Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight will launch for PS4 and Xbox One this week, publisher Playism has announced. The side-scrolling action platformer is actually the fourth title in the Momodora series, which puts a focus on melee combos, dodge mechanics and a plethora of items and spells. “Momodora: Reverie Under the Moonlight explores a cursed land in decline. Evil spreads, the dead rise, and corruption reigns,” reads the blurb....

Skul: The Hero Slayer launched via Steam Early Access back in 2020, and then saw its official launch just a year ago in January 2021. Since then, the game has gone on to sell over one million copies, which is a pretty impressive statistic for an indie rogue-lite game.
